Apparel goods with a $100 or less suggested retail price per. This includes:
- Every kind of footwear: apart from skates, rollerblades, swim fins, and skis
- Anything that is meant to be worn on or around the human body that is meant to be worn, with the exception of handkerchiefs, watches, jewelry, or bands
- Handbags, fanny packs, diaper bags, backpacks, and other types of bags
School materials with an itemized sales price of no more than $50. This includes:
Composition books, CD, Binders, compasses,, crayons, erasers, folders, glue, legal pads, tiffin box, markers, notebooks, notebook filler paper, pencils, pens, poster board, protractors, rulers, scissors, staplers, and staples and much more.
Educational materials and jigsaw puzzles with a retail price of $30 or less:
- Cards for learning, such as flashcards
- Electronic and interactive toys and books designed to teach math and reading
- Memory games such as matching
- Search-and-find and puzzle books
- Nesting or stacking groups of blocks
When is the tax-free week for back-to-school in Florida?
Florida will have a two-week sales tax holiday in observance of the back-to-school period, from July 29 to August 11. Within the limits the state has set, citizens can buy a variety of school supplies during this period without paying taxes. Schools in Florida are free to choose when to begin classes. Miami-Dade County’s students won’t begin classes until August 15, which is the latest date the state allows.
