I believe that the entire United States Mainland should be Equal in not only hiring firing but also across the board based on what job requirements have to be met (example: Doctors, Lawyers, CEOs,) based on training and money spent on training. Nothing discrimatory like quotas race, sex, age, religious denomination, family bonds, anything that is not open for the highest trained individuals based on anything but what applicants can offer for success prosperity happiness and love as should be in mission state

    • I completely agree if mc Donald’s makes $15 an hour minimum wage. Then why can’t the rest of us make that or more? Really? How do they expect us to live off $7.50 hr in austin tx ,when the average rent in austin is $1,850 minimum Not including trash,propane,water,utilities. How can we even afford to pay our car insurance,or cell phones? Not to mention I definitely CAN NOT afford cable, internet, or any extra Amenities. There is no way in hell possible to live comfortably.
      On the minimum wage they set for us, While they are able to make A very profitable salary or wealthy wage they set for themselves.

  3. Something to keep in mind is that not all jobs in those states pay minimum wage. I’m in Idaho where minimum wage is $7.25. Many places still pay extremely low wages, $8-14 and these companies are acting like they’re doing you such a favor by paying more than the minimum.

    McDonald’s pays $15 + an hour. I I’m of the opinion that McDonald’s is the quintessential low wage job and should be the minimum. If they are paying people $15 an hour nobody should be getting less than $15 an hour.

    That’s $31,200 annually or $2600 monthly before taxes, at 40 hours every week. Hope you don’t get sick ever or have a medical emergency because that still doesn’t go very far.

    If you just need a bedroom you might get away with 30%, if you want your own space or have children you’re over 50% of your income just for housing. Food, transportation, utilities and other essentials typically leaves a deficit. The article mentioned healthcare but that’s a luxury you can’t afford at $15. At $7.25 food and utilities feel like luxuries You’ve got rent and ramen at best.

    Good luck obtaining a roof over your head because you need to make 2.5-3 times the rent to be approved. You also need first month, final month and security deposit up front which is anywhere from $3000 to $10,000 to secure.

    I make over three times minimum wage and I still make just under three times the rent of an average studio apartment. I live in an RV and I still pay over $1,000 a month between the roof and the dirt it’s sitting on.

    Even better, the 2025 poverty line increased to $15,650 which is about $7.52 so if you’re making the federal minimum wage you are below the poverty line by $570. That’s gross!

    I don’t believe there is a minimum wage that the federal government would set that will allow the majority to afford existence in this economy and housing market.

    $ 5.15 an hour.That’s an insult and a complete outrage. We are working 2-3 jobs all while missing Our kids grow up missing their school functions their events. We can’t spend the weekend with them let Alone the week cuz we’re always working. Always trying to stay up float barley Making it trying to survive all while struggling, loosing sleep,precious time, with the kids. It’s depressing our kids are left alone to tend for them selves Because if We can barely pay our bills.How the hell can be afford a babysitter.
